6 Opportunities to Turn a Family Vacation into a Homeschool Lesson

Homeschooling families can have a lot of fun while traveling; as a bonus, it's educational. Now it's time to reminisce and reinforce what you learned by recycling your experiences into new homeschooling lessons upon returning home.

1. Watch a movie that takes place where you've traveled before. You'll gain new perspectives about the town you visited. Watching a movie is much more thrilling if you've been there in real life.

2. Did you approach a salamander on a recent family hike? I'm sure there are hundreds of incredible videos about salamanders on Youtube! Find one to watch together and learn more!

3. Cook foods from a country you've been to or want to visit. Try to recreate your favorite meal from the trip.

4. What activities did you miss on your first trip? Using travel guides, create a new itinerary of must-do adventures on your next journey. Give your kids a budget and time frame to finagle a unique vacation experience.

5. Read books about the towns you've visited. Get immersed in historical fiction, non-fiction, or anything in between! It's always delightful to dream!

6. Level up the family videos by making your own travel show using family photos and clips. Include hot travel tips and stories from your adventure. Kids can gain endless skills in video editing, speaking, camera angles, lighting, storytelling, and more.
